Bringing local government back to the residents of our community is the number one goal. Together we have plans for local town hall type meetings and coffees, as well as increased internet communication.
Integrity and Trust
Our current board has been admonished for holding meeting/caucus’ with secret ballot votes, not once but twice, by Illinois States Attorney Lisa Madigan. Together we have pledged to demand open public meetings as required by law.
Impact Fees:
We the taxpayers paid approx. $400,000 for a study that would help the county figure out what the impact costs are when a new business or building is added to our county. This plan has not been enacted. That is a major difference between us and our opponents; together we will act without waiting for a crisis like the one at Weber and I-55.
This is one of the most dangerous intersections in Illinois and the impact of this intersection has been tremendous in our district; together we will take action.
2030 Transportation Plan
The 2030 transportation plan cost the taxpayers approx. $600,000, also never finalized The data is getting old and we have yet to implement it, at some point the data will be useless and a waste to the taxpayer. This will not happen with Jackie, Karen and Martha together we will push for a finalized plan and implement it.
RTA TAX –Flip Flop
Our board members, specifically Wayne McMillan, fought against receiving the RTA tax even wanted to offer this as a rebate (one that would have cost more to give than the money you would have received). Now they are for it, as election time draws near, Build Will is their new plan, flip floppers looking for headlines.
Property Tax – nightmare on Main Street
Our opponents want to freeze the assessed value of your home. Our property taxes have risen because our homes were assessed at the height of the market. So why freeze the assessed value of your home at a rate that it is no longer worth?
