Will County taxpayers and voters should be aware of recent action taken by the office of the Illinois attorney general against Republican members of the Will County Forest Preserve Board. These members were charged with violating the Illinois Open Meetings Act after they held a secret ballot at a caucus meeting for the purpose of selecting a president of the Will County Forest Preserve District. The choice was made at this Republicans-only meeting rather than at the regular Will County Forest Preserve Board meeting where citizens and Democratic forest preserve members could voice their opinions. Not surprisingly, the person chosen was one of the Republican board members.

As you may also know, the Will County Board is comprised of 27 members divided into 9 three member districts. District 4 is comprised of a significant portion of Bolingbrook which is Du Page Township and the area between 95th street and the Will-DuPage border in Naperville in northeastern Wheatland Township.

Some would say we have a tough challenge ahead in seeking elected office in an area that has been traditionally Republican. However, in 2006 one of our team members came within 89 votes of winning a board seat out of over 43,000 ballots cast in the race. Together we can make it happen with your help!

We intend to be active representatives for your interests in Will County government. We will make sure your tax dollars are spent wisely, and we will help plan for the growth that Will County will continue to face in the years ahead.
